Hello! My name is Kathleen Doherty. I'm from NYC and my 12+ years of hands-on experience in Corporate Design for web and print have enabled me to set goals and reach them. My Creative Direction helped win awards for IBM and Empire Blue. I was educated in arts and technology at: The School of Visual Arts (SVA), Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), and Oxford University, UK. My fine art background and eye for detail give me the ability to code website pages that look like magazine layouts- a skillset that is very unique and invalueable. • PowerPoint presentation that I designed and executed for IBM while working as a hands-on creative director on an award-winning web application for doctors for the health insurance company site, EmpireBlue.com. (Click here to see screenshots of the web site.)
  

• Email Marketing Newsletter I converted a brochure for a medical research company into this email newsletter. Here are two more samples of monthly newsletters I designed and sent out for an auto expert: 1 and 2.
• Brand Identity/ Print Ads Logo, business cards, brochures , flyers, signage , and other business collateral.

• Website Redesign I make custom templates based on your marketing needs, the user experience of the target audience and then code the website to download lightning fast and search engine optimized. In this demo, I redesigned and coded for an energy conservation corporation creating an online press kit so it was accessible to all journalists. I also wrote copy and the tagline. The site was a success because they were able to find a buyer the following year as shown in this link.
  
           
  
  

• Website Design Over 12 years in the web design industry has given me hands-on experience in all facets of the life cycle a website- large or small.   Below are 3 samples of websites I designed and coded varying from a small site (static site less than 10 pages for a small company) to a large site (web application with hundreds of pages for a fortune 500 corporation.):
  
  

  1. Small site: I designed and coded this small press kit site for a marketing company. I designed the brand, the site, wrote copy and created the tagline. I custom-made all the illustration including icons so that all the graphics were consistent with the branding which will increase brand awareness. The product that maintains the highest brand awareness compared to its competitors will get the most business.

  2. Medium site: I designed and coded this large press kit site for an automotive expert. Her business improved greatly once she had a professional presence where she could post all her tv clips and articles on a weekly basis.

  3. Large site: I led a front-end team for IBM when I worked as a hands-on creative director on an award-winning web application for doctors for the health insurance company site, EmpireBlue.com. (Click here to see screenshots of the web site.)

• Sites that you can edit I design and code sites using a Content Management System (CMS) application, Wordpress, so the content can be managed and edited by you once I customize the style so that it looks like a web site rather than a blog. It's a wonderful way to get noticed by search engines.

• Online Promotions/Banners Ads  I conceptualize and design online ad campaigns.

• Photo Editing - professional portrait photo retouching, editing, compositing and restoration.

    Sample Custom Illustrated Poster created for an event at a hospital. I created it entirely in Adobe Photoshop except for the planet (a stock photo that I edited) and the text (Adobe Illustrator).
